From 1981 through 1983, Kawasaki won the manufacturers’ title in the World Endurance Championship for three consecutive years. In the endurance racing scene in the early ’80s, Lime Green racers were virtually unchallenged.
The KR1000 fielded by the Performance Racing Team from Kawasaki France made technical advances every race, increasing its dominant performance. In 1982, some of its advanced technologies included an aluminium head pipe, anti-dive front fork, aluminium sub-frame, Uni-Trak rear suspension and a magnesium swingarm. It let Kawasaki riders monopolise the top four spots in the rankings all year.
