Introduced at Daytona in 1975, the KR750’s piston-port two-stroke three-cylinder engine with liquid-cooled aluminium cylinders was significantly slimmer than that of the H2R. That year Mick Grant won the English Superbike Championship on a KR750. In 1976 Gary Nixon took 2nd in the FIM F750 class championship. The KR750 provided Kawasaki with some of their most important racing results, and did much to promote the company’s performance image.
